He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Black and Margaret Sandlin; his stepfather Dick Sandlin; and his brother Herman Black (Buddy). He is survived by: his wife Annette Black; his children, Doug Black Jr. (Patti) and Katy Hoch (Doug); his sisters, Sandra Simpson, Gail Clary and Lisa Falls; and his grandchildren, Falyn Farley, Jacob Vines, Anna Black and Luke Black.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel (5434 Old Birmingham Hwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at the Tuscaloosa Memorial Park (5434 Old Birmingham Hwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404).
