We are sad to announce that on November 24, 2024, at the age of 89, Dorothy (Dot) Scott Powell of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Dorothy is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Dorothy's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her husband Durward Keith Powell (Pete); her sister Sarah Scott Glover; and her stepgrandson Mark Graham Powell, Jr.. She is survived by: her stepsons, Michael Keith Powell, Sr. (Beakie), Mark Graham Powell of Tuscaloosa and Jeff Seymour (Rene); her niece Sherry Beth Byrd; and her nephew Scott Byrd.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel (5434 Old Birmingham Hwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404).
