She was predeceased by: her husband Chris Thaxton; her daughter Gail Thaxton Avery; and her brother Billy Hicks. She is survived by: her daughter Carol Bridgers; her grandchildren, Jason Avery (Abigail), Stephen Bridgers (Wellon), Catherine Bridgers and Elizabeth Bridgers; her great grandchildren, Emma, Fitz, Chloe, Robert, Nelia, Daniel, Leila and Mary Esther; her sons-in-law, Lloyd Bridgers and Ernest Avery; and her sister Ann Falgout.
