Joseph Cooke Obituary
Joseph "Butch" Cooke, age 77, of Trussville, AL passed away on February 28, 2024. Butch was a native of Alabama and moved around in various cities throughout Alabama during his early childhood. He was born on August 21, 1946 to Joseph Edgar and Vera Lucille Cooke.
He graduated from Hewitt-Trussville class of 1964. He joined the Air Force in 1966 and was promoted to B52 Crew Chief and Strategic Air Command as Staff Sergeant before being honorably discharged. After the Air force he attended UAB where he received a Bachelors' of Psychology. He worked at AT&T until he retired.
Butch was an avid Alabama football fan. He enjoyed watching classic films and classic cars. He attended several classic car events throughout the years and recently enjoyed watching videos on YouTube of classic cars. Butch was a family man. He loved spending time with them and being a supporting husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family more than anything else on earth.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dianna Collins Cooke; his two sons, Wes Cooke (Cel) and Danny Cooke (Rachel); his three grandchildren, Abby Cooke, Mark Cooke, and Sarah Cooke.
A graveside service for Butch will be held on March 5th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Last Supper Mausoleum in Trussville at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather at Ridout's Trussville Chapel starting at 12 noon.
