He was predeceased by: his parents, Hartford C. Sims "Pop" and Esther Mae Sims; and his daughter Mary Jennette Sims "Jenny". He is survived by: his wife Mary Helen Sims; his brother Frank Sims (Nell) of Delta, AL.; his sons, Lane Newton (Mandi) of Cummings, GA., Jon Sims Trussville (Ginger) and Dane Sims of Moody Al; his grandchildren, Michael Norton Jr. of Ranburne Al, David Sims, Abby Sims, Natalie Newton and Hailey Newton; his great grandchildren, Michael Norton III and Emma Eason (Micah) of Birmingham; and his children, Beverly Sims and Jim Sims (Susie). He is also survived by niece and nephew.
