He was predeceased by: his parents, Fletcher M. Smith, Sr. and Wilmer Louise Smith (Bell); his brother Charles Danner; and his brothers-in-law, Herman Brasher and Dean Hess.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Smith (Everett); his son Fletcher Mitchell Smith, III (Tre'); his sisters, Barbara Danner Hess (Jose), Carol Smith Peoples (James), Lucy Smith Brasher and Peggy Smith Warren (Charles); his parents-in-law, Mary, Bill Sansing, Bill Everett, Daniel, Carmen Everett and James Everett; his friends, Dale Bragan and Scott Godfrey; and also Jayla Smith, MD (Robinson). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, great-great-nieces and -nephews, cousins.
