She was predeceased by: her parents, Shelby Robert Syring and Irma Montz Stokes Syring; her husbands, Harold McCray and Larry Powell; her daughter Sandra M. Davis (Keith); her stepsisters, Mary Ester Stokes Fell and Frances Stokes Bailey; and her brother Bobby Syring.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia McCray Looney (John) of Vestavia Hills, AL and Malinda McCray Adams of Vestavia Hills; her grandchildren, Allie Looney Lewis and Christopher Closon; and her great grandchildren, Windom Robert Lewis, John Averette Lewis, Addis Chris Colson and Maggie McCray Colson.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Southern Academy in care of Michael McCray, 407 College Street, Greensboro, Al 36744; and the Catfish Navy in care of Greensboro Presbyterian Church, Greensboro, AL 36744.
