He is survived by: his wife Irene Meredith; his children, Michael Meredith (Rachel) and Pam Sanders (David); his grandchildren, Jeremy Griffin of Ohio, Meredith Griffin of Georgia, Levi Sanders of Alabama, Jacob Sanders (Kayla) of Alabama, Maggie Meredith of Alabama, Kathyn Caflin (Garrett) of Hawaii, Will Meredith of Alabama and John Mathew Meredith of Alabama; his great grandchildren, Sawyer Sanders, Kinsley Pinkard and River Sanders; and his sisters, Jane Sterns of Alabama and Edna Jean Segrest of Alabama.
