He was predeceased by: his parents, Brock Avirett and Hollie Avirett; his wife Jean Youngblood Avirett; his sisters, Virginia Jones, Sybil Davis and Marilyn Placzek; and his brother-in-law Rev. Joe Youngblood.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph (Alice Avirett) and Susan (David Johnson); his grandchildren, Sabrina Pulliam (Michael) of Theodore, Russell Johnson (Morgan) of Troy and Sarah Johnson; his great grandchildren, J. Pulliam, Shawn Pulliam, Joe Pulliam, James Johnson and Wyatt Johnson; his sister Lena Tipton of Donaldsonville, GA; and his sister-in-law Virginia Crigler of Mobile.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Old Lebanon Cemetery Fund or to the charity of your choice.
