He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Douglas Tillery and Dorothy Jane Tillery; his wife Teresa Tillery; his brother Douglas Lamar Tillery; his grandson Leo Wyatt Tillery; and his grandmother Mary Ellen Hughes.

He is survived by: his children, Walter Dewayne Tillery, Jr. (Jessica) and Nikita Marie Tillery (Cole Cordell) of Newton, AL; and his siblings, Larry Tillery (Sandra), Ansley, Tony Tillery, Troy and Donna Kidd (Glenn).

Due to the recent outbreak of Covid, masks and social distancing will be required at visitation and at the service.
