He was predeceased by: his parents, Huey Leon and Ila Trawick Dykes; his grandson Hunter Russell Starling; and his brother-in-law Joel Silverman. He is survived by: his wife Linda Stricklin Dykes; his daughters, Elizabeth Starling (David) and Angela Beck (Tony); his grandchildren, Mary Margaret May (LC), Anna Marshall Starling, Chandler Allen Beck and Courtney Anne Black (Austin); his sister Shirley Dykes Silverman; and his caregivers, Earlene Copeland, Fannie Croswell and Carol Lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alpha Gamma Rho Educational Foundation at Auburn University where Mr. Dykes was a member.
