He was predeceased by: his parent Eddie Motes, Jr.; his wife Barbara Motes; his sons, Kerry and Keith; his siblings, Katherine Smith (Eddie), Mary Renfroe, Nadean Nix (Juan), Eddie T. Motes, Jr., Henry Motes, Danny Motes and Fredrick Motes; and his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Wynn and Warner Boyd.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Powell (Greg) and Randy Motes; his grandchildren, Kayla, Niki, Courtney, Josh, Korry, Mathew, Taylor and Kerrigan; his great grandchildren, Khloe, Aubrey, Nilah, Lacy and Euma; and his siblings, Herman Motes (Deloris), James G. Motes (Elizabeth), Selena Dunn (Tim), Linda Cox (Jimmy), Eatha Wynn, Margerett Boyd, Priscilla Motes and Toy Motes.
