He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, James Leach, Catina White, Nina Brown, Candy Mitchell, Sue Foote, Kathy Burks, Flossie Lamon and Deborah Hill; and his siblings, Grady Brinkley, Lucille Brinkley and Dorothy Breakman. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren.
