He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Sherrill and Virginia Baker Sherrill; and his siblings, Frank Sherrill, Ralph Sherrill and Martha Sherrill.
He is survived by: his daughter Dawn Mitchell (Tim) of Trinity; his grandchildren, Victoria Paige Mitchell of Muscle Shoals and Kinsley Gabbard (Cody) of Hillsboro; his great grandchildren, Magnolia Gabbard and Jenson Gabbard; and his siblings, Eugene Sherrill, James Sherrill, Linda Posey (Grady), Ola Siniard, Mary Lawrence and Eugenia Hammond (Jimmy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
