He is survived by: his wife Jo Bates; and his children, Wayne Bates (Lisa) of Trinity, Sherry Chamberlain (Steve) of Moulton and Sheila Biggs (Joey) of North Carolina. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
