He was predeceased by: his parents, Hollis Kerby and Hazel Kerby; and his son Brian Kerby. He is survived by: his wife Melba Farley Kerby; his son Jason Kerby (Pamela); his granddaughter Kasi Johnson (Cody); his great grandchildren, Zaylee and Jax Johnson; and his siblings, Marlin Kerby (Joann), Coy (Chevie), Larry Joe (Charlene), Stevie Kerby (Kucera), Marie Miller (Harry) and Donna Gibson.
