He is survived by: his children, Cherrie Avila, David Whitmire (Theresa), Daniel Whitmire (April) and Douglas Whitmire; and his grandchildren, Tiffanie Davis, Lekitta Diaz, Haley Fountain, Katelyn Whitmire, Emaly Whitmire, David Whitmire, Jr., Dakota Whitmire, John Whitmire, Chris Whitmire, Preston Whitmire, Andrew Whitmire, Luke Whitmire, Gage Whitmire, Allie Whitmire, Sherry Stephens and Michael Baker. He is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
