He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Erdie Claxton and Ila Mae Claxton Burns (Matthews); his wife Clara McMunn Stone Claxton; his children, Donnie Claxton (Diane) of Harvest, Jeff Claxton (Phyllis) of Athens, Jeanne Lindsay (Kip) of Athens and Carolyn Keith (Michael) of Bristow, VA; his stepdaughter Sharon Sandlin (Tim); and his siblings, Tommy Claxton and Jeanette Holt. He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Hospice of North Alabama.
