He was predeceased by: his wife Minnie Davenport Childress; his son Danny Childress; his parents, Jim Alfred and Glennie Foshee Childress; and his brothers, Horace and Earl Childress.
He is survived by: his children, Martha Jackson (Keith), Laura Jones (Mark), Amy Nelson (Kevin) and Ronnie Childress (Christie); and his daughter-in-law Kathy Childress. He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
