He was predeceased by: his mother Veleda W. Moates Popwell; and his son Wesley Popwell. He is survived by: his father Julius Elvin "Shine" Popwell; his wife Carolyn Dean Dever Popwell; and his children, Justen Popwell (Regan), Bridget Burt (Cody) and Dustin Cleckler (Alexis Mae). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Thorsby First Baptist Church or to Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
