He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ivy Newton and Dollie Magdeline Newton (Walker); his brothers, Robert Willard Newton and Thomas Newton; his children, Susan Belcher (Bell), Donald Parsons and Jerry Bell; and his grandson Austin Belcher.

He is survived by: his wife Inez Marie (Womble) of Thomasville, AL; his children, Rebecca Wallace (Matthew) of Albuquerque, NM and Ronald Parsons (Hyoung) of Dover, DE; his daughters-in-law, Marie of Darien, GA and Annette Bell of Preston, MS; his daughters, Damita Davis (Dwight) of Pine Hill, AL and Amanda Smathers (Mike) of Albuquerque, NM; his brother Joe Newton (Doris) of Saraland, AL; and his children, Roy, Lulu Castarphen, Devin Kennedy and Jada Kennedy. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
