She was predeceased by: her father Andrew Jackson Elliott; her husbands, Lewis T. Compton, Sr. and Robert L. Couch; her daughter Ira Susan Compton Averette; her father Clyde Neeley Elliott, Sr.; and her siblings, Georgia S. Compton, Florence E. Spindle, Carl Elliott and Luther Elliott.
She is survived by: her children, Lewis T. Compton Jr., John Compton (Kenna), Margie Belcher (Lee), Helen C. Locke, Fay C. Noland (Truman) and Linda C. Etheredge (Doug); her siblings, Clyde Neeley Elliott, John Henry Elliott and Julia Knox Boyd; her stepchildren, Gus Couch (Claudia), Jeff Couch (Donna), Nick Couch (Denise), Jerry Couch (Annette), Peggy C. Iverson (Phil), Tammy C. Kershaw (Peter) and Kenna C. Compton (John); and her niece Bettie Lou Bozeman. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
