He was predeceased by: his wife Jennie Boyette; his parents, Samuel Nelson and Vaudria Elaine Boyette; and his brother David Boyette. He is survived by: his children, James Edwin, Jennifer Lynn and Jonathan Scott Boyette of Thomaston, AL; his sister Linda Boyette Daniels (Ricky) of Montgomery, AL; and also Toby Banks.
