He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Jean Cotton; his parents, William J. Cotton and Pauline B. Cotton; his sister Dorothy Smith; and his grandson Justin Payne.
He is survived by: his siblings, Diane Briggs of Caldwell and John Cotton of Coeur d'Alene; his children, Jeanne Hay (Norman) of Theodore, Patricia Westbrook of Theodore, Teresa Stewart (Brant) of Theodore, Elizabeth Bowen (Charlie) of Mobile, Nancy Myrick (Allen) of Grand Bay and William R. Cotton (Debbie) of Grand Bay; his grandchildren, Heather Gunn (Donnie), Johnathan Hay (Teresa), Trent Cotton (George), Todd Cotton (Sara), Whitney Cotton, Thomas Cotton (Monica), Colin Westbrook, Katie Hughes (Chris), Aaron Payne, Bryant Payne, Christy Hendon, Amanda Fresolone (Chad), Ashley Plymale (Liliana) and Brittany Devaney (David); and his niece Wendy Mead (Bubba). He is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (6040 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, AL 36619). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (4980 St Vincent Dr, Mobile, AL 36619).
