He was predeceased by: his father Prof. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Katz; his mother Dr. Elaine Katz; his siblings, Caroline Pearlstein (Jonathan) and Jonathan Katz (Holly); his sister-in-law Jodi Monroe (Brian); and his nieces and nephews, Morgan Monroe, Leah Monroe, Ella Monroe, Jo Pearlstein, Zachary Katz and Josh Pearlstein.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Temple Emanuel of Tuscaloosa or the American Cancer Society.
