He was predeceased by: his parents, James R Betts, Sr. and Anna Ruth McDonald Betts. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth V. Betts; his children, Kelly Betts Adler (Ron) and James Russell "Rusty" Betts, III (Gina); his grandchildren, Noel Karpanty (Kaiser), Morgan Reeves, Lauren Betts, Kayla Betts and Courtney Hatcher; his great grandchildren, Oliver Karpanty, Beckham Karpanty and Andi Rose Karpanty; and his sister-in-law Mildred Johnson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
