It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Nettles Sr. of Theodore, Alabama, born in Thomasville, Alabama, who passed away on February 4, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nettles Sr. and Azilee Dunn Nettles; his wife Lois Steiner Nettles; his brothers, John Nettles, Jr. and Joe Nettles; his siblings-in-law, Margaret Nettles and Donald Leuthy; and his grandson Richard Knight.
He is survived by: his children, James Monroe Nettles Jr. (Sherry) and Ramona Nettles Knight (Jerry); his sisters, JoAnn Leuthy, June Clark and Joyce Dumas (Terry); his sister-in-law Ann Nettles; his granddaughters, Dr. Laura Azilee Powell (Donald) and Scarlett Cash Shoub (Matthew); and his great grandchildren, Anya Maria Powell and Konrad James Powell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
