She was predeceased by: her mother Bertha Choate (Mama Dood); her son Gary Dale; her grandson Micheal Pennington; and her sisters, Claudia House (Charles) and Elizabeth Green (Jim).
She is survived by: her husband Ellis; her children, Reggie (Elaine) and Shelia Hill Pennington (Leon); her daughter-in-law Carla Dobbs Hill; her grandchildren, Cindy Pennington (Che' McCrary), Cody Hill (Poppy) and Kaleena Hill; and her great grandchildren, Hunter Pennington (Kaitie Carden), Joshua Beeson, Justin Beeson and Karlie Hill.
