He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Thrash; his daughter Deborah Thrash; and his granddaughter Amber Patterson. He is survived by: his children, Dawn Powell (Richard) and Durward Franklin Thrash (Kathy); and his grandchildren, Amy Murphy, Jennifer Gengler, Rachel Starnes, Brandy Sasser, Sherry Hughes, Megan Matires and Justin Thrash. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
