He was predeceased by: his wife Zana Dean; his son Gary Dale; his grandson Micheal Pennington; and his parents, Ollie Hill and Lucy Hill.
He is survived by: his children, Reggie (Elaine) and Shelia Pennington (Leon); his grandchildren, Kaleena Hill, Cody Hill (Poppy) and Cynthia Pennington (Che McCrary); his great grandchildren, Hunter Pennington (Kaitie), Joshua Beeson (Olivia Wood), Justin Beeson and Karlie Hill; and his great great grandchild Barrett Pennington. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
