He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewitt Gauntt and Maggie Gauntt; his wife Hulda Gauntt; and his grandson Brandon Jesse Owens. He is survived by: his children, Mary Gail Hogan (Steve), Burton Gauntt (Stephanie) and Kent Alabama; his grandson Alex Owens (Nicole); and his sister Josephine Tucker.
