He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. "Red" Yates and Dorothy Waites Yates; and his sister Candy Clark. He is survived by: his wife Patty L. Yates; his daughters, Kerri Kennamore (Justin) and Beverly Hill (Gary); his grandchildren, Jared Hill, Natalie Pierce, Izabella Kennamore, Ava Hill and Presley Hill; his niece Ashleigh Ledbetter; and his nephew Michael McDonald (Kim).
