He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Virgil and Glennie Mae Smith; his spouse Shirley Woodall Smith; his sisters, Emma Lucille Smith Yancey (Willard Yancey) and Mary Annette Smith Johnson; and his granddaughter Stephanie Lynn Grimmett Davis.
He is survived by: his daughter Lee Ann Smith Grimmett (Ron); his grandson Eric Mullins (Kristi); his great grandchildren, Smith Mullins, Cannon Mullins, Ella Kate Mullins and Joseph Davis; and his brother John William Smith. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Valhalla Funeral Home (5317 Bessemer Super Hwy, Midfield, AL 35228). A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
