He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Phillips and Allie Joe Phillips; and his grandparents, George W. Phillips, Cecil and Annie Louise Lackey.
He is survived by: his wife Lura Phillips; his children, James Harold George, Beretta Eugene George, Paula Phillips Ellenburg (John), Amanda Marie Haywood (Beau) and Loretta Lyn George; his siblings, Jimmy Ray Phillips and Mary Ann Reaves; and his grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Hughes, Macie Marie Turner and Morgan Shawn Turner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
