He is survived by: his wife Elaine Nixon; his children, James Douglas Nixon Jr. and Christy Nixon; his grandchildren, Serra Smith (Matt), Jolie Champion, David Nixon (Truly), Marianel Huff and Marienel Cruz; his great grandchildren, Kayden, Ariella, Kyler and Abigail; and his sisters, Mary Adair and Patricia Parker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
