He is survived by: his wife Camilla Estell Pearson Wates; his daughter Donna Freeland; and his grandson Nathan Shawn Freeland.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Abundant Grace Church (3611 Bear Creek Rd, Sterrett, AL 35147).
