He is survived by: his son Jerry Lee Bates (Denice) of Henagar, AL; his siblings, Robbie Haney of Sylvania, AL and Larry Bates of Chattanooga, TN; his grandchildren, Jamie Bates, Lashanda Colon, Jerica Bates, Tyler Bates and Dana Galloway; and his son Randy Ray Bates. He is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren.
