He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Scogin and Katie Bell Scogin. He is survived by: his wife Merrilynne Scogin; and his son Jason Scogin.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Crestview Memorial Gardens (4304 Johnson St, Adamsville, AL 35005).
