He was predeceased by: his wife Leona Faye Hornsby Verstraete; and his brother Cyril Verstraete. He is survived by: his nieces, Debra Hornsby of Sylacauga and Vicki Irving (Mike) of New Jersey; and his nephew Gary Smith of Sylacauga.
