He is survived by: his wife Maria Brettin; his children, Maria Johnson, Chuck Brettin (Elizabeth), Mike Diaz, Ralph Diaz (Lucy) and Jennifer Feltner (John); his daughter-in-law Lisa Brettin; his grandchildren, Eddie Rivera, Elizabeth Feltner, Robert Rivera, Jeremiah Brettin, Ralph Diaz Jr., Leilanie Calkins, Jansary Cortes, Billy Shidler, Nelson Shidler and Kaci Allman; and his brother Timothy Brettin (Peggy). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
