Sylacauga- Funeral Service for Johnny Frank Whaley, 86, will be Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 4pm at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Whaley and Rev. Randy Liner officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 3pm until service time.
Mr. Whaley went home to be with Jesus Friday, September 15, 2023 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Sylacauga. He worked for Sylacauga Utilities Board for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Clyde and Lexie Whaley, four sisters; Lois Fallon, Ruth Auten, Judy Bentley, Sara Whaley, two brothers; L.C. Whaley, Quiton Whaley, and one grandson; Eric Whaley.
He is survived by his former wife Marie H. Whaley of Sylacauga, four sons; Franklin Whaley of Sylacauga, Dewayne Whaley of Florissent, Mo., Douglas Whaley and wife Angela of Talladega, Daniel Whaley and wife Angie of Childersburg, eight grandchildren; Amanda VanWagner, Franklin Whaley Jr., Arnold Whaley, Brittany Doell, Tiffany Maloney, Derrick Whaley, Travis Whaley, Ashley Whaley, ten great grandchildren; Sky Riddley, Tori Riddley, Donna VanWagner, Allie Doell, Tygan Doell, Devan Doell, D Doell, Aiden Delgado, Jacob Gates, Cole Gates, Kaley Whaley, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Franklin Whaley, Dewayne Whaley, Douglas Whaley, Travis Whaley, Derrick Whaley, and Randy Liner.
Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.
