Jimmy L Smith Obituary

Jimmy L. Smith, age 61, of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023.

Jimmy was the oldest of 5 children, and was the family patriarch. He made friends easily. He was always ready to help, was very caring and had a giving heart. Jimmy worked many years at Alabama Marble Quarry. Later in his life, he worked at Ronnie's Produce.

Jimmy is survived by his son Jimmy Ray Smith; his sister Angela Sims (Roy), his sister Kimberly Ray (Joe) and his brother David Smith; his dear and best friends David Carden "Frog", Ronnie Rushing, Marty Barnett, Bill McDaniel and Daniel Hill.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Ray Smith and his mother Patricia Faye Kelly; his brother Danny Ray Smith "Israel".

Jimmy also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

A visitation for Jimmy will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for family and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for friends at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Radney-Smith Funeral Home. Bro. Donnie Blackmon will officiate the service.

Serving as pallbearers are Todd Roberson, David Carden, Jimmy Ray Smith, Jim Mims, Alex Shaw and Roy Sim.

Our hearts are forever broken. We will miss you terribly, Jimmy.

Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
