She was predeceased by: her parents, J. C. Pilate Sr. and Dora Lee Jackson Pilate; and her sisters, Diane Pilate Holtzclaw and Carolyn Yvonne Hamilton. She is survived by: her husband James Alfred "Jim" Nix of Sylacauga, AL; her children, Lamontre Pilate (Kaylon), Shekitla Cook, Richard Cook (Jill), Jocelyn Seals and Matthew Elston; her grandchildren, Montrelon Pilate, Davrian Cook, Jayden Cook, Ouinn Cook and Laiklyn Seals; her siblings, J. C. Pilate Jr., Tommy Joe Pilate (Jane), Dexter Cleveland (Melissa), Janet Stone (Ray Charles) and Nanette Mitchell (Danny); her siblings-in-law, Jerry Holtzclaw of Sylacauga, Cecil Hamilton of Sylacauga, Elvis Nix (Wendy) of Sylacauga, Calvin Nix of Sylacauga, Benny Nix of Sylacauga, Wesley Nix of Sylacauga, AL, Butch Johnson NJ (Rita) of Sylacauga, AL, Marvin Nix (Robbin) of Sylacauga, AL, Donald Nix (Geraldine) of Sylacauga, AL, John Nix of Sylacauga, AL, Derrick Nix of Sylacauga, AL, Cassandra Varner (Rudolph) and Tracy Johnson (Maurice); and her aunts and uncles, Mae Dates, Irene Nix Mack, Joyce Blankenship, James and Larry Lauderdale (Shirley) of Hope Hull, AL.
