It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ethel Smith of Sylacauga, Alabama, born in Goodwater, Alabama, who passed away on July 31, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruben Thomas and Fannie Mae Thomas Lawler; and her husband David Smith, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Francis Garrett (Raymond Garrett), Barbara Duffey (O. C. Duffey) and David; her siblings, Clenzell Hogan (late Repter), Emma Breedlove (late Willie), Robert, Clara Griffin (L. D.), Ida Hale (late Doris) and Anna B. Stephen (late Jan); and her children, Cathy Jeanetta Smith, Connie Embry (late Ronnie), Michael Smith (Carla), Leon Smith (Pam) and Ronnie Smith (Dinese). She is also survived by grandchildren, great and great- great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
