She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Taft Martin and Evie Lee Morris; and her sister Kay Harper. She is survived by: her daughters, Laverne McDonald, Denease Phillips, Sheila Johnson and Laura Thornberry; and her brother Whit Martin. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Alabama State Parks.
