He is survived by: his children, Charles Owings (Lois), Michael T Owings (Melissa), Sherry Laman (Lonnie) and Paula Ward (Michael); and his siblings, Lewis Owings (Marie), Billy Owings (Gail), Author Owings (Peggy), Joyce Keeter (Eddie) and Betty Dowdy (Kerry). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
