She is survived by: her husband Gaynes Lee Chavis; her children, Clarissa Antoinette Carter and Steven Lee Chavis; her sister Martha Worthy; her sister-in-law Ada Jane McDonald; her brother Theron David Shaw; her grandchildren, Brent Carter and Jessie Lynn Carter; and her great grandchild Cora Ann Carter.
