Gertrude Townsend Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gertrude Townsend (Sumiton, Alabama), who passed away on November 25, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Doyal Ralph Townsend; her parents, Elmer McLeroy and Pearl McLeroy; and her brother William Luther McLeroy. She is survived by: her children, Tammi Deatherage (James) of Brewton and Lee Townsend; her grandchildren, Lauren Deatherage Smith (Dustin) and Jackson Deatherage; her sisters, Sue Allums and Judy Knotts; and her siblings-in-law, Brenda and George Gray. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
