It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Woods of Sulligent, Alabama, born in Sumiton, Alabama, who passed away on February 19, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James R. Russell and Mary C. Russell; the fathers of children, Manual Woods and Rector Johnson, Sr.; and her son James Woods.
She is survived by: her children, Patrick H. Woods (Fortune), Rector Johnson Jr. (Margaret), Bob Joe Johnson (Sally Mae), Jerry Johnson (Debra Shelly), Jimmy Johnson (Mary Etta), Terry Johnson (Miranda), Esker Jay Johnson, Troy L. Johnson, Dorothy L. Smith, Lula Karon Thomas Smith (David) and Rammie M. Johnson; her sister Charlotte Wilson; and her brother-in-law Othello Giles, Sr.. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren; and her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to any youth and/or women's ministry.
