He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Guess; his parents, Kathleen Guess and Ike Guess; his grandson Kevin Wilson; and his brother Randy Guess.

He is survived by: his children, Phillip Ray Guess Jr., Joseph Sentell Guess and Kathleen Gilley (Timmy); and his siblings, Ralph Guess and Glenda Wilson. He is also survived by Seven Grandchildren and Ten Great Grandchildren.
